Raphaël Guionnet
Since my childhood, I’ve always been fascinated by fire, mechanics, electronics, and light. To me, these elements are part of the magic of life.
My most memorable experience dates back to the show "Péplum" (1994) by Royal de Luxe. I discovered that everything I was passionate about could be translated into art. The sight of a large red velvet curtain catching fire to start the show, the fireballs, the smoke... A giant Pharaoh transforming into a sand dune provided me with an incredible adrenaline rush and transported me to another universe.
At the age of 17, the director said to me, "When are you coming to work with us?" I seized this opportunity and learned special effects alongside Étienne Louviaux, who taught me discipline and showed me the mindset required to excel in this field.
Fifteen years later, I have worked on numerous projects produced by companies such as Ecce Film, CG Cinéma, Easy Tiger, and with artists like Lola Quivoron, Antonin Peretjatko, Christine and the Queens, as well as brands like Aigles and Viktor & Rolf.
After meaningful encounters with cinematographers and photographers who taught me their crafts, I now explore the realm of image and light work, integrating special effects intradiegetically into stories.
